Description:
Michael Jackson will profile the brews of the United Kingdom and Ireland, both known for their strong and diverse brewing traditions. You'll learn how history and geography have affected the evolution of beer styles - from English bitters to Scottish ales to Irish stouts - and get a report on the ongoing campaign to preserve Britain's "real ales." Then adjourn to the Society's Dining Hall for a sampling of the best beers-including selections not frequently found in the States-that these island nations have to offer.
